SEO can be a bit of a mind-boggling subject but it can actually be quite simple. I'm going to share how to structure a blog post for SEO so that you can start driving traffic to your website and get some good Google juice.

How to structure a blog post for SEO

SEO doesn't have to be complicated. One of the best things you can do is structure your blog posts just the way Google likes them.

1 Decide on your keyword

Your keyword is the foundation of good SEO. What is your blog post about? That's your keyword. You want to pepper your post with it starting with the title of the post.

2 Intro in very first paragraph and include the keyword

Start the blog post with an introduction that summarises the blog post and includes the keyword.

3 Header image with keyword

After your introduction paragraph, include a header image with the keyword in the title of the image and the ALT Tag. Google can't read the words in an image so it's important to make sure you put the keyword in the image title.

4 Heading with keyword

Add the keyword to the heading and then start your post.

Want to make money online? Here are 5 ways to do it.

5 Divide into sections and use headers wherever possible

Can you break up your content? Are you writing a recipe? Break use a heading like 'why this recipe rocks' and list out a few dot points. You want to make the content as easy to read or scan as possible.

6 Include 3 internal links to relevant content

You want people to stay on your site as long as possible. Including links to relevant content through the post (see how I've done it in this post) is a way to keep them engaged.

7 Include an external link
