Pablo – New Farm

It’s a rare Saturday morning that I have my husband home before 11am, golf widow that I am, so I was not all that disappointed when a certain someone missed out on a tee-off time last weekend.

The weekend before, Kristin had been to breakfast at a little place and I was instructed to try it. I wasn’t all that hard to convince though she hooked me with food photos. I’m a sucker for food photos.

Pablo – New Farm

Arriving at Pablo at about 10am, we were a little worried we wouldn’t get a seat but on close inspection, the restaurant has another room around to the side and lots of seating.

I’d love to know what this guy was describing. Looks interesting!

Karmarama juice

Will found a wallet on our little stroll from the car to the restaurant. He thought Karmarama juice was rather suitable considering he’d get good karma for returning the wallet to the owner.

We tried to contact him on Facebook to no avail and it was the wife who finally took the wallet to the police station. That technically means I get the karma right?

His juice was yummo but I’m not sure that it provided karmarama.

Go-fusion juice

I went for the go-fusion because I liked the sound of the herbal infusion and hint of honey. It was just delicious and not too much pulp. I’d never tried Emma and Tom’s juices before but this won’t be the last. They’re 100% natural with nothing added.

Will’s breakfast was quite a work of art. My husband claims to not like breakfast. He could fool anyone with that statement when we eat out. I barely have time to take photos of everything and taste my own before he’s polished off the plate. I managed to grab a forkful of scrambled eggs before they disappeared and they were nice and light and fluffy and very tasty.

It was a tough decision but in the end I went for the lighter option for breakfast. When it arrived, I admit I was a little bit disappointed but only because I thought I would be hungry after such a small-looking portion. It turns out, this combined with my delicious juice was the perfect serving for breakfast. An unusual combination (to me anyway), the mango, basil and tomato salsa actually worked really well together and is something I’ll most definitely be trying at home when the price of mangoes is a little more reasonable.

This was a yummy breakfast and perfect if you’re you’re looking for something not too heavy. My only gripe was that the halloumi could have been a bit bigger and one slice was cold. I was debriefing the meal with Kristin (as we do) a few days later and she said hers was just perfect so mine was probably a one off (they were very busy).

T2 China jasmine tea $3.50

I love T2 tea and this one didn’t disappoint. The price was reasonable too. I’ve paid $4 and been given a mug of hot water with a tea bag on the side before (and not a fancy tea bag) so $3.50 for a nice pot of tea was just perfect.

Rise & shine menu

If you’re after a coffee or drink on the run the selection is rather large and they have a yummy range of sweet treats as well.

Tempting cookies

What is it about colourful cookies that is so tempting? I love the way the colours leaked into the biscuits too.

The verdict: if you’re after a scrumptious, casual and reasonably-priced breakfast with friendly service then head to Pablo.
