Happy Valentine’s Day!
Last week I thought it might be interesting to dig through my kitchen and see what sort of love-related cooking and baking ware I could find. Well, I didn’t realise I had such a thing for hearts. So much so that I had enough for a photo shoot. Can you tell I’m a big food nerd?
Yes that’s right you can see 3 cake tins, 5 cookie cutters, two ice-cube trays, one ice-cream sandwich maker and cupcake cases. I later found a container of heart-shaped sprinkles too!
To the tune of Kylie’s ‘Two Hearts’… two hearts are sitting together. I’m still in the can’t-get-enough-of-you stage of my relationship with my new camera so I had a bit of fun with my heart shoot.
After all that frivolity, here are a few random facts about Valentine’s Day that I found interesting:
- Teachers receive the most Valentine’s Cards (Valentine’s Facts)
- 73% of Valentine’s Day flowers are bought by men, whereas women buy only 23% of Valentine’s flowers (Valentine’s Day) … I wonder who buys the other 4%?
- The first Valentine’s Day box of chocolates was introduced by Richard Cadbury in 1868 (Valentine’s Day)
Of course any, or all of these might be completely made up but at least if you haven’t received a card today, unless you’re a teacher, you know that it’s not you, you’re just in the wrong profession!
Whatever your profession may be, Happy Valentine’s Day!
I hope you are feeling the love and enjoying the day. Don’t forget to show your family and friends how much you love them and have a wonderful Valentine’s day.
